  • Other measures? (Read only)

A big thank you to everyone who has been involved in the discussion so far.

This is our last set of questions based around the Local Petitions and Calls for Action Consultation and the forum will run until Thursday 20 March 2008 when the consultation closes.

For the remaining time we would like to focus on whether local petitions and calls for action, taken together, would sufficiently empower communities to intervene with their elected representatives, or if we should consider other measures?

We are also interested to hear any other views on the operation of the new duty to respond to petitions and the call for action.

Don't forget you can find more information on the consultation and alternative ways of responding by following this link http://www.communities.gov.uk/publications/localgovernment/petitionscalls

    Once again, over to you!

Thank you to everyone for your contributions to this discussion on the consultation on Local Petitions and Calls for Action.  The consultation has now closed and your comments will be included in the analysis of responses which we will feedback on towards the summer.

In the meantime you might like to get involved in the discussion on 'Unlocking the Talent of our Communities' and the empowerment white paper due to be published in the summer.

    Thanks again
