  Corporate transparency

  The department has been publishing its spend data since August 2010 and would be interested to know whether there are any innovative applications being developed as a result of this.

  Please tell us what you think about the data we publish and how you have found it useful.

  Number of issues - it is only by chance that I came across this issue. How is this initiative aimed at businesses - I have never heard of it.

  What is the aim? Transparency but how are you expecting businesses to use this information. Applications? - (a) to encourage companies to bid on government / local government contracts (b) applications to disseminate information?

  I think it's truly a democratic move to reveal the expenditure books to the people.
  We really do not need another episode of taxpayers' money used for the rental of "educational" DVD.

  This is definitely a step in the right direction!  Transparency like this would help those who became dismayed esp. with the MP expenses scandal

  Publishing the data is very important in my opinion and it gives the public the opportunity to scrutinise the information published. Public opinion has been changed by recent events in politics and all departments need to re-engage with the public and demonstrate a sound stewardship of public money.
