Webchats

The Department runs occasional webchat events, some open to everybody who wants to participate and others limited to a particular group of stakeholders. Webchats enable participants to contribute to current policy, consultations and emerging issues for the Department in discussion with Ministers and policy officials.

  Communities Minister Andrew Stunell answered questions from young people on communities, neighbourhoods and volunteering.
• Baroness Hanham web discussion, 24-26 May 2011 (on the Knowledge Hub website)
  Baroness Hanham took part in a web discussion exploring how councils and the voluntary sector can work more closely together. (Registration required).
• Grant Shapps webchat, 7 December 2010 (on the Mumsnet website)
  Minister for Housing and Local Government Grant Shapps answered questions on becoming a councillor.
